This is my story of how I have done at letting go of some things. I started this blog when my son was in High School , during a deployment and facing big life changes. I have come out the other side of those changes. Emptynest, long since empty. Our son is now a Lt in the USMC and now we are facing exiting the Marine Corps possibly in the next few years. One thing I have learned is life is constantly in flux, so this is my life...in flux.

My reasons for waking up everyday....
I am in large part starting this blog because my son is going to be going off to college this fall. I am gifted with an only child. And when I say gifted I mean i I wasn't supposed to be able to have kids and "surprise" here he was. I think I am realistically ready for the emotions and changes that will come with empty nest. I am fortunate that I have a wonderful husband that is also a friend, that I actually like and don't mind being around, I hear that helps. But as you all know, things can't just come in singles, I am also going to be dealing with cross country PCS (permanent change of station) for all my civilian friends. All this the same week my son graduates from high school and not only that, hubs has to report earlier...ya you are starting to get the picture. But here are some other pictures, some of my favorites of my family (I am testing out this blog stuff..thanks @armygirlnay for the help!

Such handsome men you have there. What a beautiful family! Feel blessed to have "met" you on twitter and look forward to learning more about you and your family!
Count on me being a regular visitor here, haha
Thanks for the nice comment, I have enjoyed getting to know you on twitter as well and thanks in advance for all the help I will be asking for ! LOL
That sure is a lot of changes, I caught some of your Twitter updates over the holidays and assumed major things were going on... I think you'll find a blog is a wonderful venting technique. I look forward to sharing and learning about each other!
hiya! Tucker sent me over. Nice to "meet" you, and welcome you to the world of milblogs. It's fun, but be prepared for the trolls and idiots. you can ignore them, or block them, we can help you do that if you want!
I'm also the mom of an only. he's older, and has a little girl of his own, he and his wife were both Army/1AD in Iraq in 2003/4. My husband is coming back from another tour in Iraq. Oh, we're Army, but I gotta tell you - there is NOTHING like a Marine in Blues... went to a few Marine Corps Balls at Embassies around the world - sigh.... [heart flutters... smile]
nice to have someone out here who isn't a kid - you may end up feeling like a den mother - but the young spouses help keep me young (except the music, and we just ignore each other's taste!)
Welcome again.
